Gift Eligibility

Gifts from individuals, private foundations and businesses to eligible Larimer County charities need only meet or surpass the $10,000 mark to receive an invitation for two guests to the Give 10 Grand Gala. There is no need to record donations past the $10,000 level. Additionally, gifts of cash, stock, and real estate made to Larimer County charities between January 1 and December 31, 2011 are also eligible donations. Participation forms documenting your gifts for the 2010 calendar year are due by January 10, 2011.

While each and every charitable gift builds a better Larimer County, the following types of donations do not qualify for eligibility in Give 10:

• Donations related to fund raising events, such as ticket and auction-item purchases, event underwriting, and sponsorships.
• In-kind contributions of goods and services.
• Donations to churches, houses of worship, tuition-based private schools, political campaigns, and private foundations.

Give 10 staff will review and verify gift information with nonprofit organizations when necessary. There is no need for donors to submit proof of their gifts. Follow-up with donors will occur in rare circumstances.
