• Applicants must be a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Please see Frequently Asked Questions for further guidance.
• Only ONE request up to $30,000 per grant cycle is permitted. Please see Frequently Asked Questions for further guidance.
• An applicant may apply for the following types of support: general operating; program; technical assistance; or equipment/capital.
• Applicants may apply up to two times in a calendar year. Applicants may not submit the same request two times in a calendar year. Please see Frequently Asked Questions for further guidance.
• Choose the ONE goal area that is most applicable to your organization or program. Download the corresponding application into Microsoft Word by clicking on the appropriate link.
• Complete and submit one copy of the application. Do not exceed the limit on length and do not expand answers onto additional sheets of paper. The only page that may be expanded is the Bohemian budget form. Please see Frequently Asked Questions for further guidance.
• Sign the signature page, noting that BOTH the Board Chair and the Executive Director need to sign. For school district applications, signature of Superintendent and either department head or school Principal, as appropriate. Please see Frequently Asked Questions for further guidance.
• In order to be considered, all applicants must complete and remit the appropriately signed application and all required attachments to the Bohemian Foundation. Incomplete applications may be deferred to the next grant round. Please see Frequently Asked Questions for further guidance.
• The application must be RECEIVED by 5pm on the deadline date. Applications may be mailed or hand delivered. Applications postmarked prior to the due date but received after will not be accepted. Applications received via e-mail or fax will not be accepted. If the deadline falls on the weekend, the deadline is extended to the following Monday.
• For any organization that has been classified by the IRS as a public charity because of the public nature of its support (i.e., under Section 509(a)(1)/170(b)(1)(A)(iv) or Section 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code), total grant awards within the calendar year may NOT exceed 30% of the organization’s annual budget or otherwise hinder its ability to meet its public support requirements.
• Only one copy of the application is necessary. The copy does not need to be in color. Do not put applications in binders or folders as they are discarded. Do NOT include additional materials; they will not be reviewed.
