Music Programs Director:

In support of our mission, we are seeking an experienced professional to contribute expertise and leadership within the Foundation as Music Programs Director. As a senior leader, the Music Programs Director will have overall responsibility to design, implement, and manage current and new initiatives, programs, and grants that bring to fruition Bohemian Foundation’s music vision. The role will provide leadership to the growing music team and will work collaboratively with the Foundation team members, the Executive Director and the board. The Music Programs Director will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and will stay connected and informed within the music community on a local, regional, and national level. The role will be the champion of the Foundation’s Music Programs by leading and developing programs and responding to the requests and direction of the board to advance the mission of the organization.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Passion and Dedication:

  • Passionate about music and communities
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement, learning, and growth
  • Demonstrated understanding of and appreciation of the mission and functions of foundations and the philanthropic field

Leadership:

  • Fifteen or more years of progressive professional experience in leadership positions
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively leading a team of management-level direct reports
  • Proven, dynamic, trustworthy leader and team builder
  • Strong detail-orientation, exceptional problem-solving, and analytical skills required
  • Ability to foster a healthy and enjoyable organizational culture
  • Unquestionable ethics and personal integrity

Program Development and Management:

  • Minimum of seven years of program management experience and oversight of many concurrent projects and teams
  • Working knowledge of current issues and trends in music/creative communities
  • Proven skills and experience in business operations, relationship development, and community building
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, and implementing complex activities, including budgets, timelines, and use of software programs

Communication:

  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Capacity to take complex concepts and convey them in a straight-forward, jargon-free style
  • Articulate, tactful, and able to successfully manage internal and external stakeholder relations
  • Proficiency at presenting and public speaking

Community Programs Manager:

In support of our mission, we are seeking a full-time Community Programs Manager (CPM) to join our Community Programs team. As a senior member of the team, the CPM will play an important role in the Community Program’s strategic grantmaking and program management. The CPM will design, manage, and assess specific foundation-directed grants and programs (including events). The CPM will also play a role in reviewing and assessing the Foundation’s responsive grantmaking program applications. This role reports to the Community Programs Director.

The successful candidate’s experience and background will demonstrate passion and experience in:

  • Identifying potential opportunities for community impact
  • Designing and implementing effective program and event strategies
  • Continuously learning and improving
  • Actively contributing to a highly-collaborative team
  • Managing competing priorities
  • Jumping in and doing what it takes for the team to deliver high-quality results, whether attending to small or big tasks

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of seven to ten years of progressive professional experience managing and leading projects in a nonprofit, foundation, or grantmaking role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of one or more of the following key content areas is preferred – youth development (Pre-K-12), workforce development, family economic stability, and community engagement and development
  • Strong detail-orientation, exceptional problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Aptitude to interpret and understand financial statements
  • Ability and interest to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, and implementing complex activities
  • Articulate, tactful, and able to successfully manage internal and external stakeholder relations
  • Ability to lead working groups/collaborative efforts with a comfort and proficiency at public speaking

Music District Manager:

The Music District Manager will oversee all operational aspects of the Music District, including marketing, customer relations, planning, staffing, management, budgeting, developing and directing programming. The role will discern and respond to the entrepreneurial direction of the advisory board and identify opportunities to advance the mission of the Music District.

The Music District, LLC is a music-centric gathering place that cultivates talents, encourages connections and mentoring, and supports professional development. This musician-inspired hub will incorporate a shared space model to bring musicians and music-centric businesses and organizations together to help realize potential and add to the vitality of the music community. The organization is centrally located in the historic buildings at 619 to 639 South College in Fort Collins, CO with tenant units, practice spaces, rehearsal rooms, flexible space, green spaces and terraces. The Music District, LLC is a nonprofit organization whose support is provided by Bohemian Foundation.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and/or experience required
  • Five (5) years of management experience required
  • Demonstrated knowledge, passion and support of the music industry and music artists required
  • Experience in site operations, marketing and/or community outreach a plus
  • Nonprofit, foundation and/or board representative experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage the business operations, as well as cultivate successful relationships with artists and partners
  • Proven, dynamic, trustworthy leader and team builder
  • Skilled, diplomatic communicator and consensus builder
  • Innovative and capable problem solver
  • Positive, energetic outlook and approach to opportunities
  • Ability to foster a healthy and enjoyable organizational culture
  • Effective collaborator both within and across organizations
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook and network navigation required
  • Experience with sound equipment and musical instruments preferred
