Give Next
Inspiring Youth, Building Community
Give Next is a school-based youth grantmaking program for middle and high school students in Larimer County.
Give Next is a year-long program that challenges participating students to explore complex social issues, think critically about their role in creating change and take action by investing in local nonprofits.
Students experience the power of collaboration and the impact they can have on their community.
The program begins each fall with Give Next Kickoff Day—a day of information, inspiration, and community building. Once back at school, students collaborate to identify community needs, select a focus area, and create a mission statement. Students research nonprofits, conduct interviews and visit nonprofit facilities. These activities help students make real funding decisions. At the end of the school year, students award grants to selected nonprofits, celebrating the impact they’ve made and the lessons they’ve learned.
Give Next is made possible through the support of many community partners.
With support from local businesses, foundations, and individuals, each participating classroom receives $5,000 to award nonprofits in Larimer County. These generous donors help shift power to youth by funding student-led grantmaking programs.
Primary implementation partners include Bohemian Foundation and NoCo Community Foundation.
